Covid Birthday 2020

Happy birthday to me!
Celebrating Covid style. Which pretty much means, trying to cook a yummy meal at home and celebrating with your Nuclear family only.
So this is 39!

I requested garlic shrimps for my birthday. In reminiscent of my birthday last year; Garlic Shrimp trucks in Hawaii.

Happy Easter!!

What a weird Easter celebration this year. With the Covid lockdown, we couldn't have a typical egg hunt. We couldn't hold it at a public park and getting families and/or friends together is not advisable either. Since we don't really have a front or back yard, we had to settle for an egghunt in the living room.

While Zoë and Jaxon were fast asleep, mommy and daddy got to work assembling and hiding.

Check out Zoë's haul! Jaxon didn't do much but sit back and relax while his sister did all the work. Typical boy. Hahaha.

Now time to open all the eggies while showing her brother eggs and goodies here and there. Some eggs had toys, some had candy and some had disney dollars! Which totally translate into real dollars.

She's definitely happy with her egg hunt haul!

And afterwards, Zoë dove right into the LOL doll outfit pods that we hid as eggs. Although, I think she had more fun with the gel the outfit was contained in.

Meanwhile, Jaxon was tired from all that "hardwork". LOL!

Covid, what?

So at the end of last year, there were stories about Coronavirus, but no one though anything of it.

Now, months later, it's considered a world wide epidemic. Businesses had to all close down. Some people were able to keep working remotely, but the majority of folks weren't lucky enough for that.

Times are definitely scary, but the family is safe and staying home.

So how do we cope? With major group FaceTimes.

And then afterwards, it was time for baby cuddles!

Jaxon Meets Greyson

We took the little guy and Zoë out to Mom & Dad Samoza's. Turns out Greyson was coming over too!

Shabu Shabu at Home? Why not!

We got a hot pot for Christmas and we're making good use of it for the 2nd time already. We get to enjoy the deliciousness of Shabu Shabu from the comforts of our own home! And this time, we're doing it right. Getting all the extras and sides that you would find at any typical Shabu Shabu spot.

And check out baby Jaxon! As little as he is, he gets to enjoy dinner time with us too!

Grandma finally came to see Jaxon for the very first time!

Daddy Duties at the Doctor's Office

Time for Jaxon's first Dr visit after taking him home. Since Zoë fell asleep on the way to the Dr's office and Mommy was still healing, Daddy had to carry Jaxon's carrier and the baby girl.

And then, we were told baby boy is super underweight. Probably because my milk is still barely coming in. So, we had to feed the little guy formula. The Dr gave us a bottle that was pretty much ready to serve. Zoë wanted to feed him, so here she is on Dada's lap feeding Jaxon.

And now, daddy has to carry both kiddos back to the car after baby boy's appointment.

Go dada, go!

Mommy Time with Babies and Daddy Time with Babies

Today is just a day we get to lay around and enjoy our babies.

The MamaRoo and Formula

First full day at home with the little guy. We setup the MamaRoo for him and he's loving it. He looks so snuggly.

Zoë really loves carrying her new little brother. They're so cute together!

Well, it turns out that Mommy's milk hasn't quite come in yet. This explains the super rough last night at the hospital. Poor baby was hangry all night long. So this is a first. We're giving the little guy some formula.

Jaxon's Going Home

Zoë and Dada came back super early. They did wait until Jaxon was done getting circumcised though. Dada didn't want to be around for that. Although, we all didn't realized that they were taking Jaxon to another room to do it. Neither of us was allowed to be with him.

Anyhow, Jaxon was fast asleep in his little platic crib so Zoë took the opportunity to climb in bed with Mommy. I didn't get much sleep last night so we cuddled and napped together for a bit.

After our nap, Zoë went to snack on one of the meals they provided while I got Jaxon dressed for his journey home.

He went back down in his little crib for a bit while Mommy and Daddy listened to the nurse and filled out our discharge paperwork. Of course, his big sister couldn't resist staring at his cute little face.

And here we are little guy! Home sweet home!

Ringing in the New Year

Happy New Year!! The year 2020.. aka year of clarity. We'll see.

Starting off kinda meh though because poor baby girl couldn't stay overnight at the hospital with us. We had to ring in the New Year and run the countdown without her. *sad face*
And when we tried to face time her to wish her a Happy New Year, she was fast asleep on Lola's bed.

After we all cheered to the New Year, baby boy stayed snuggled up, burrito style, and fell back asleep.

And then it was time for us to get some much needed rest. Or at least try to with new baby and all.
By the time morning came, it was time for baby boy to have some snuggles with Mama.

And not long after, it was time for Jaxon's first bath!


This time around, things were a little different too. A photographer came into our room and asked if we wanted a little newborn photoshoot. No obligation to buy until we see the photos. Of course!

Spent the rest of the day all hanging out together. Had to stay in the hospital for another day though. This time, Dada and Zoë went home while mommy stayed with baby Jaxon.
