Covid Birthday 2020

Happy birthday to me!
Celebrating Covid style. Which pretty much means, trying to cook a yummy meal at home and celebrating with your Nuclear family only.
So this is 39!

I requested garlic shrimps for my birthday. In reminiscent of my birthday last year; Garlic Shrimp trucks in Hawaii.

Best part though? The card from baby girl and the cupcake she made with love.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Our plan to surprise Jeric at midnight didn't work out. Haha. Zoë fell asleep pretty early and there was no waking her up at midnight. I tried for several minutes, but nope, she didn't budge. Oh well, she was staying home with Jeric today anyways, so she can at least surprise him with the present and birthday cards. I was supposed to stay home too, but unfortunately, we had a meeting with one of our clients at work today, so there was no way I could ask for it off.

Anyhow, here's Zoë and Jeric sleeping in while I get to head out to work.

While I was work, Jeric sent me a few pics of the cutie.

Once I got home from work, we headed out to Mom & Dad Samoza's to have dinner with everyone.

Picking Out Daddy's Birthday Card

Took Zoë to Target so that she can pick out a birthday gift for him and a card.

A few days ago, I wanted her to as Jeric what he wanted for his birthday. But she told me that she wanted to buy a surprise toy for him.

Then today, when I picked her up from my mom's, she changed it up a bit and tried to negotiate. She said, "Let's ask Daddy what he wants and buy me a toy instead, how bout that?" LOL! I just had her also get a little something for herself, but still had her pick whatever she wanted for Daddy. Silly thing.

On the way out, we stopped by the card section. Honestly, I totally wasn't thinking about the birthday card until Zoë was like, "Lets get a card for Daddy," when we walked by the card aisle.

I had her go through the birthday card section to pick one out for Jeric and she went straight to the kiddo section. Hahaha.

I told her to pick a card that reminds you of Daddy. She ended up picking a ton! LOL

After reaching 10 cards, I was like, "Ok, that's enough." Then, I held two at a time and had her pick which she liked the most. In the end, it came down to a Toy Story 4 one and a Tangled one. She could not pick her favorite at all. Hahaha. Sooo, we just got both!

We also didn't really have a box for her little present that she got, so I helped her make one. She helped me out by cutting little strips of tape to keep it together.

Once the box was finished, she wanted to decorate it too.

Once it was all done, we hid the present and the cards in my drawer for tomorrow. We also bought a teeny ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins that we hid in the freezer. Our plan was to surprise him with it once it hit midnight.

Marky's Bday Celebration

We headed out to Mom & Dad Samoza's today to celebrate Marky's birthday!

There was a UFC event going on too, so we all pretty much hung out in the garage. They all drank while me and An indulged in soda, water and this non-caffeinated tea drink that Liz got from work.

It was a pretty chill get-together to celebrate Marky!

And to end the night, couldn't forget the cake!

We celebrated Weston's birthday today!

It was over at Nickle, Nickle in Garden Grove so it was in a super cute video game theme. Really loved the PacMan deco.

And Zoë enjoyed all of the fun games!

Double Booked - Diego's Baptism/1st Birthday & Dustin's 3rd Birthday

We're double booked today! Yeeks! Still, we made it all workout. We made it out to Diego's baptism, but unfortunately had to skip out on his 1st birthday celebration since we had to make the long drive over to LA, where we were late to Dustin's 3rd birthday party. At least we made it to both!

I also didn't get any pic of Diego getting baptized. He seemed to like it though!

Zoë's Belated Goofy's Kitchen Birthday Celebration

Each year we take Zoë to Goofy's kitchen to celebrate her birthday. This year, we're doing it pretty late. Like three weeks late! Lol. None-the-less, we're still taking her.

This year though, we celebrated with the Samoza/Pascual fam since Auntie Flo and Auntie Roma were in town.

Zoë enjoyed the characters as always!

And of course, Jeric and Iban also took photos with Chip & Dale, since they were their Disney characters as kiddos. Jeric as Chip and Iban as Dale. They wanted to have a pic with both Chip & Dale together, but there seemed to be tension between the two. Lol! Oh well.

Even Mama Dinky and her sisters got in on the action!

Baby girl really enjoyed celebrating at Goofy's Kitchen and even snuggled up with Chip for an extra long time!

And after we all stuff our bellies with delicious food, we wanted to walk it off around Downtown Disney. But once we went through security check and got to the stage, Zoë had other plans. Baby girl just wanted to dance! And Auntie Roma danced with her.

Chuck E Cheese Birthday Celebration

Zoë's celebrating her birthday with her Mostajo cousin's today! We all went out to Chuck E Cheese so the kiddos can have fun and the adults can sort of relax. Hahaha.

Zoë's Birthday Celebration Continues

Mommy and Daddy are taking Zoë's birthday off as always! This year, it's on a Monday, so we planned a fun trip to San Diego. We headed out Sunday afternoon and once we checked in and got all settled, we went out for dinner at good ol' Phil's BBQ and then stopped for dessert at, you know it! Extraordinary Desserts! Haha. We can't resist Phil's and Extraordinary Desserts whenever we're out in SD and will probably never venture away from those spots.

We got Zoë an ice cream float for dessert and she dug right on in per usual!

We also hitup Target and let her pick out any toy for her birthday. At first, she stopped by make-up stuff and we were like, nah, lets go find a toy. But, after she looked at ALL the toys one-by-one, she didn't want any of them and circled back to the make-up kit. Well, I guess it isn't so bad. I mean, she see's me putting on make-up all the time as well as the other girls that are in her life. So, we caved and bought it for her. She was super happy!

And, we also bought her a slice of yummy cake from Extraordinary Desserts. We didn't tell her about it and had them box it for us to go and right at midnight, we sang our baby girl Happy Birthday, she blew out her candles and enjoyed her cake! And boy did she enjoy it! No fork, no problem! Hahaha.

Zoë Turns Four!

OMG she's four! It's so crazy how fast she want from teeny tiny infant to walking talking sassy toddler. Watching her personality shine through as she's grown has had it's ups, downs, goods and bads, but all so worth it! Happy early birthday baby girl. Hope you enjoy your Moana themed celebration at the beach!

Jeric had to get to the beach at the crack of dawn so that we had a pit for a bonfire once the sun went down. Meanwhile, I needed to get everything packed into my car along with Zoë a few hours before the party was set to start so that we can setup.

While setting up, Zoë plopped herself right down onto the sand and had a few snacks.

Meanwhile, I was totally trying to get the hibiscus paper flowers to hang on the outside of the canopy, but with all the wind blowing, it wasn't looking so good. I was about to through myself a hissy fit or something because I've been working on these cute flowers for quite some time now. And they were pretty! I really wanted them up. Luckily, I found out they might stick if I hang them from the inside of the canopy where the canopy might be able to shield them a bit from the wind. Which, they certainly did! The still blew around a bit, but it worked!

Mom, Dad, Denise, Ray, Liz and Marky also helped out a lot with packing stuff up and taking it to the beach, which I am very thankful for! It was a shit ton of stuff and we didn't have wagons. Doh!

Denise, Ray, Dustin, Liz and Marky arrived not far behind I did, so that was cool! That also meant Zoë had a playmate! Her and Dustin dove right into playing in the sand.

Once Mom and Dad got to the beach and everything was pretty set, we were able to get a cute girl pic together with the guest of honor!

I also brought a giant Pua stuffy with us, but Zoë totally didn't want any pics with it. *sigh* Oh well, it's her birthday! And at least we got these cute pics of her down by the shore!

While hanging out by the shore, Denise and Ray helped catch a ton of sand crabs. Of course the kiddos wanted to take them back to our spot, which they did. They were certainly amused with them for a good long time.

All of Zoë's friends were starting to arrive, so I went to work and put together some cute little goodie bags.

And while the kiddos all played together, the adults (minus me of course) had a few drinks together!

Once mostly everyone had arrived and before we started to lose people, we brought out baby girl's cake...

And the kiddos gathered around her and we all sang her Happy Birthday!

And then we were left with just a few of the kiddos who, not only eyed the frosting, but got some on their noses and dug on in! Hahaha!
