Attempting to Make Some Panna Cotta
Mommy and Zoë at it again. This time, we're making some Panna Cotta!

We wanted to make a Strawberry Panna Cotta, so we had to cook down the strawberries, add sugar and then squish out all the juice. Zoë really liked squishing down the strawberries through our mesh basket, which I had to improvise with since I didn't have a sieve. We made it work though!

Then Zoë cooked down the gelatin and mixed it in with the strawberry juice.

Once they were all mixed in nicely, I poured it all into 4 little oven safe bowls. Again, we had to improvise because I couldn't find my ramekins.

And tada! Not quite perfect, but not bad for our first try.

And now a taste test.

Zoë approved, but not quite her favorite.

Apple and Banana Empanadas Anyone?
Another dish to bake while we're confined to our homes...Apple and Banana Empanadas.

We caramalized the apples first.

Then sliced up some banans and tossing them with brown sugar and cinnamon.

Once the fillings are ready to go, Zoë worked on kneeding and rolling out the dough. And then cut out some circles.

Then I helped her out with spooning the filling into each circle.

We folded them up in half and tried both pinching and forking to seal them shut and layered them all on the cookie sheet.

After adding an egg wash, we tossed them into the oven and tada!!

Time for yummy empandas!

And now to store them for tomorrow's breakfast.

Mmmm Creme Brûlée
Totally trying to make some creme brûlée at home!
Sadly, we don't have a blow torch to burn the sugar. So, I attempted to burn the sugar in the oven.

Yah, that didn't work that well. Still super delicious though.

Crafts and Dessert for Valentine's Day
It's time to make something yummy for dada! Whatcha think the little baker's gonna make, cupcakes or a cake?

While we wait for the cake or cupcakes to bake, it's time to craft!

Little girl is hard at work.

Stay tuned for Zoë's baked surprise and all her deco.

Easy Bake Oven Fun
Zoë got herself an easy bake oven from Ninong Marky and Ninang Liz for Christmas! She wanted to play with it today, so we set it all up and she got to baking.

And of course, her favorite part was playing with the dough.

Holiday Baking
We're baking today! Gonna try and re-create those delicious Biscoff cookies and Zoe's excited!

We found copycat recipe online, bought all the ingredients and then saw these cute holiday cookie cutters. Zoe started with the flour and daddy helped her sift it.

And then she mixed the dry ingredients with her hands, which she thought was super fun!

Then mommy helped her add in the rest of the ingredients into the mixer.

Now baby girl just needed to kneed the dough a bit

And then she rolled the dough out and had fun with the super cute cookie cutters

Tada! They're ready to get baked!
And now it's time to decorate! As you can kinda tell, the details of the cute cookie cutters didn't really hold. Still cute though!

Heart Shaped Ice Cream Sandwiches
Totally wanted to surprise Jeric with some Heart Shaped Ice Cream Sandwiches today. They turned out aite.
I just took Nestle Cookie Dough and tried to roll it out as flat as I could and then ended up using a Playdoh Heart Cutter to cut out hearts. At this point, you're supposed to freeze the cookie dough for about 10 minutes prior to baking. This firms up the dough to keep it from becoming a buncha blobs. Sadly, no room in the freezer or even the fridge. So, yah, some of them came out into blobs.
None-the-less, I was able to find a few good pieces to make my cookies.
For the ice cream, you would take your fav flavor of ice cream and scoop it out into backing pans and flatten it all out. Then, refreeze it. When cookies are cool enough, use the same cookie cutter to cut out the same shapes!
Then, place it onto the cookie!

Tada!

Also, the cookies were overcooked. But that's because, against my better judgement, I left them in there for a few minutes too long.
Still, he liked the cookie sammich! Yummy!
