I decided to dress Zoë while she was asleep, but she ended up waking up anyways. Daddy actually helped Zoë with her ponytail too. So cute!
And of course, family photo time!
When we were all ready to go, we went downstairs and I headed to the ABC store to get a few more snacks for Zoë.
Then we were off to our first spot, Boots and Kimo’s.
But, wuhoh! The main road there was closed. We ended up going to the left to what we thought was a good detour. I mean it wasn’t bad actually. The view was awesome and so beautiful!
Buuuut, there was no way to get to Boots and Kimo’s. We ended up heading all the way back to Waikiki to take a freeway that took us to another highway and eventually got us there.
I put our names down and it was only about a 30 - 45 wait. But then I noticed it was cash only. There was a bank and Target across the street. Target’s better, but we didn’t know if they gave cash back. Called them and they do! Jeric headed there while me and Zoë hung out.
Jeric came back 20 minutes later with a kit kat and $40. Yey! Zoë was also super happy he was back and wanted to hang out with him while we waited a bit more.
About 10 min later and we were seated.
Me and Jeric ordered a full stack each of their famous banana nut pancakes. He also got scrambled egg for Zoë.
Jeric ended up giving a pancake to Zoë, but she only took one bite. I also only ate about 2 pancakes. Jeric ate half of my other and we just took my other half and Zoë’s leftovers to go.
We paid real quick and then rushed over to Manoa Falls.
Jeric dropped us off at the entrance to the hike trail while he parked the car.
I got a few cute photos of Zoë with the sign and we saw this cute bird with a red head. Zoë loved it!!
Jeric finally met up with us and we began our hike with our own personal scout leader! Haha.
The first thing I saw was this cool green stone wall!
It was sooooo beautiful! Like out of a movie. It was so green and luscious. Totally other worldly. Or not of our time... aka Jurassic Park.
The actual hike wasn’t too bad.
We did get muddy. Zoë fell on her tush once. She cry whined a tad, but mostly because her hands and pants were muddy. She got over it though. And it also rained a ton on our hike up. There were areas that were harder. Larger “steps” to get up a rock and Jeric carried Zoë for the most part. Closer to the waterfall it got even harder. But nothing we couldn’t manage.
We finally saw the waterfall. It was flowing but it wasn’t a huge stream. It was pretty small actually.
Thankfully the rest of the view during our hike made up for that puny little thing. Haha.
Plus there were a few pretty flowers here and there.
Now we gotta head down. This would be tougher because chances of eating mud are higher.
We made it though! Me and Jeric also took a ton of bug bites as souvies! Lol. When we got to the bottom I did attempt to steal a pretty flower to put behind Zoë's ear, but I guess the luscious plants were like HA! Because the moment I was about to put it on her ear a ginormous funky colored bug popped out from the middle of the flower. I dropped it on the floor immediately and stomped at it! Lol. Not trying that again.
Now, should we head to Lanikai Beach? Hmm ETA is 4. But sun sets at 7. We’re good to go! That also gave Zoë enough time for a little nap.
Got to Lanikai and found the spot we went to years ago (2011).
Got changed and headed to the beach. It’s a bit different than before though. The alley took us to steps and the waves crash right there! So you immediately have to walk along the shore with waves crashing and running over your feet. Zoë was scared hahaha. So I carried her and she squealed every time a wave came to crash near us.
Zoë was also in her mermaid bathing suit so we had a photo shoot of course.
She wanted to get to her toys tho Hahahaha.
She played and Jeric wanted to take a dunk real quick to see if the mud will come off his shorts. Hope so because my favorite lululemon leggings and my NMDs are muddy! Also my love shirt!
Jeric came back.
Crud.. doesn’t look like it’s coming off. Oh well beach time! I got in the water for a bit. The water was warm but I felt cold because of all the wind.
Then me and Jeric left Zoë to play we took a snap us in the water since Zoë just wanted to play with sand.
We came back and Zoë’s face was sandy. Lol! Jeric took her to the water to wash her up. She was squealing a crap ton because she didn’t want anything to do with the water. Lol!! And of course, she went back to the sand! It was hard to pry her away, but we were getting hungry, so we cleaned up and made her leave the beach, promising we were definitely coming back.
We headed back to the hotel so we can all get cleaned up. I even braided Zoë's hair for once!
Then headed on out to see what we can eat.
The entire Kalākaua ave was blocked off for a marketplace. Food was overpriced though. Jeric did come out with a really cute necklace with Maui’s fish hook on it. When we first saw one at the beginning of the marketplace they were selling it for $40! At the end.. he found it for $10! Heck yesss! Zoë wanted a bracelet and then a necklace, but eventually didn’t want any. Lol. Me and her came out empty handed. She did have fun trying on Leis though!
Now food! We walked to the end and were about to try a burger spot, but it looked basic. We were near a popular ramen spot, but ugh, they’re cash only!
So we walked down Kuhio to see if we could find anything on the way back to the hotel and totally ended up back at Marukame Udon. Me and Zoë shared a regular bowl of the same we had last night. Jeric wanted a limited one so he got the spicy pork.
We all ate, headed back home and ended our day.
