House of Shabu Shabu in Anaheim

Our favorite AYCE Shabu Shabu spot is called House of Shabu Shabu and it's all the way in Irvine. Well, just recently we found out that they're opening a second location in Anaheim just down the street from Mom & Dad Samoza's!

It's open for a few weeks now, but we haven't been able to head there until today. Yummmmmm!

And Zoë with the peace sign. It was so random, hence Jeric's LOL face.

I think we found our new spot! They don't offer ALL of the same menu items as the main location yet, but the wait time is significantly shorter and of course, it's much closer to our place.

Halloween Fun at Disneyland

Having some fun at Disneyland and enjoying more of the Halloween deco.

Zoë also said she'd actually ride Nightmare Before Christmas! I sorta convinced her a few days ago by telling her that it's not scary at all and that it's like the movie. She's been on it before, but it was when she was younger and more fearless. Once she got older and started to get scared of the Haunted Mansion, there was no getting her on it or the Nightmare Before Christmas version. So, this made us happy! She finally agreed to ride it.

But first, time for us to try the Pumpkin Spice Mickey Beignets!! And looks like everyone had the same idea because the line was super long. It went from the Mint Julep order area all the to the La Mascarade d'Orleans entrance. So crazy!

The line did move along fast though and gotta say, these beignets were way worth it. That pumpkin spice powder was finger lickin good.

And now it was time to ride Nightmare Before Christmas. But did it happen? Uhhh, nope! Hahaha. She backed out and said she didn't wanna ride it. That's okay baby girl! Hopefully you'll ride it again some day.

We also finally got to take our Giant Mickey Pumpkin photos. Gotta have one of these every year!

And when we finally were all done and made it back to the parking structure, I noticed that the tram now drops you off outside instead of under the structure where the pick you up from. Which allowed us to check out the huge Pixar Ball.

Lobster Nachos and a Little Fun

I've been craving Lobster Nachos from Lamplight Lounge for the longest and I finally get them today!! We got to Lamplight Lounge, but it was a bit of a wait to get our food out. That was totally fine though because Zoë was being a silly cutie.

She was super happy to get one of the Pixar Otter coasters too.

And then, she got Daddy with her straw! Hahaha.

And finally, our food arrived!

The Lobster Nachos were as good as ever, but man, I feel like they shrunk the size of the dish yet again! I think we should just try to re-create these at home.

Once all our bellies were full, we rode a few rides. The first was Toy Story Mania. I figured Zoë would get more a kick out of this ride now that she's older and can actually play, which was spot on. She loved it!

The last ride we wanted to hit-up was the Zephyr. Jeric found a vid of when Zoë rode it as a teeny baby and ever since then Zoë's been wanting to ride it. Yah, we all got dizzy so that's not happening again. Hahaha.

And check this out! As we were leaving Pixar Pier I saw a new addition. Luxo Jr. was above the entrance sign! He even moved around to look at people. So cute!

New Ramen Spot

I was craving me some Ramen, but didn't want to drive out too far for Shin Sen Gumi or Santouka. So off to Yelp! That's when I found Yoshiharu Ramen. It had really good reviews and we wanted a new spot, so we went to check it out. It turned out that it was at this pretty new complex built in Buena Park called The Source. The Source is pretty much an outdoor Asian mall. All the foodie spots and whatnot were Asian owned, Asian themed or served Asian cuisines. They have this little cafe that serves Souffle Pancakes!! I've been dying to try those for so long, so definitely good to know they have them here. They also have this little hole-in-the-wall spot that serves the Asian fluffy cheesecakes like the ones from Uncle Testu. They also had this huge indoor playground area for kiddos called PlayPie, which I'd like to take Zoë to one day.

Anyhow, back to my ramen! When we got to Yoshiharu, I ordred my ramen while Jeric ordered himself a Spicy Beef Rice Bowl.

Both the ramen and the rice bowl were delicious and we both said we wouldn't mind eating here again. Zoë also loved the ramen! She didn't want to try the rice bowl at all since she knew it was spicy.

By the time we were done eating, we were too full for dessert and also tired. There wasn't really much else other than foodie spots at The Source either. There were a ton of empty spots ready for lease though and a few spots already under construction, so hopefully they fill up with some good shops we can check out.

Din Din at Good Ol' House of Shabu Shabu

We're totally in love with the AYCE Shabu Shabu over at House of Shabu Shabu. It's out in Irvine, but definitely always our go-to-spot. It's AYCE and they also have a ton of different sides you can get like simple sushi rolls, edamame, chicken wings, gyoza, fish balls, etc.

And who can resist their savory broths!

And afterwards, you get a scoop of ice cream! The right amount of dessert to end a delicious dinner. Zoë always takes hers to go and either eats it outside while we chat or in the car on the way home.

Disneyland for Our Announcement Pic

Finally getting around to letting the world know we have baby# 2 on the way. I was looking for a cute way to announce that involved Disney of course and was able to re-create a similar post I've seen on the net.

So I took Zoë to Disneyland and got to shooting our pic! What do you think?

Super cute right!?

Anyhow, since we were already at Disneyland, of course we had to make a day out of it!

Here we are on the Jungle Cruise

After the Jungle Cruise, we heard that the parade was about to start and Zoë wanted to watch, so we hung out and found a good front row spot.

Baby girl was definitely happy and took Pluto out to watch with her!

Afterwards, we went to meet up Jeric in Downtown Disney. He just walked around and waited for us since he's blocked out for the summer. On the way to meet him up, Zoë couldn't help but admire one of the Disney fountains. She really loves fountains!

When we finally met up with Jeric, we all were craving something sweet so we hit up Black Tap and finally got to try one of their famous milk shakes!

We got the Churro Choco Taco, which is a Cinnamon Toast Crunch Shake with a Vanilla Frosted Rim with Cinnamon Toast Crunch topped with a Choco Taco, two Churros, Whipped Cream, and Dulce de Leche drizzle. Sounds like a lot? Ohhh it was!

We all enjoyed it though, especially Zoë!

Was it worth it? Oh yaaaaah! Of course it eventually became too much sugar for us all, but we certainly killed about 90% of it.

Getting to Taste Our Milk Bar Goodies

We were too full to try our Milk Bar goodies after Mama's birthday dinner last night, so why not have them for breakfast today?

We got their famous Birthday Cake and Crack Pie.

Zoë really loved the birthday cake. At first it was because it has sprinkles, but then, it was definitely because it was delicious. Me and Jeric also liked the birthday cake, but it was a bit too rich and we couldn't finish up the slice. As for the crack pie? That was the best! I would definitely want a few crack pies the next time we're in the neighborhood.

Milk Bar LA

Been wanting to try the goodies from Milk Bar and since we were heading to LA today for Mama's birthday, we stopped by and picked up a slice of their famous birthday cake and crack pie.

None of it was fresh and since we were heading out to dinner, we just saved it for later.

Anniversary Fun

It's our anniversary! *cue Tony! Toni! Toné!*

I've been dying to try out Bosscat ever since it was a proposed spot for a bachelorette get together. Well, what better time to head out there then our anniversary, right?

The place was really chic and cute. It was an open walled restaurant with a full service bar and their own Whiskey room. Here's the menu and the table decor.

We came here for brunch, but of course, no bottomless mimosas for me.

We knew we wanted to order what people raved about on Yelp, but not everything was available for brunch, so we ended up ordering their Fruity Pebbles French Toast, Short Rib Chilaquiles and some Tots.

While waiting for our food, we took the time to take some photos!

The three of us together

Daddy and Zoë and Zoë by herself on the cute bench with pillows.

And here's me and Jeric together. Zoë actually took the photo of us!

Now the food!

Fruity Pebbles French Toast

Short Rib Chilaquiles

And the Tater Tots with a fried egg on top

The food was all good, but nothing spectacular TBH. The Fruity Pebbles French Toast also got too sweet after awhile. Even Zoë was over it. Hahaha. Luckily, this mama was famished with her growing baby and all, so all the food was eventually devoured!

On the way out, I stopped by the bathroom and Zoë wanted to come with me. Which was perfect because I got a few shots of her in the very chic bathroom.

And here we are outside

Not bad for our anni! Tried a new foodie spot that had an awesome atmosphere. We definitely want to come back, but for dinner instead.

Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes

Trying a new burger place that opened in Downtown Disney, Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes.

When you get in, you wait in line to order at the counter. To the right of the line is a pretty colorful wall, which we had to have Zoë use as a backdrop for a photo.

Me and Jeric ordered a burger each and just shared with Zoë.

The burger was alright, nothing special to be honest. But I guess the spot is more known for their over the top milk shakes. We were too full after we killed the burgers, so decided we should try the shakes next time.

Afterwards, we had to walk back to our car, which was over at the further Downtown Disney parking lot. Since we were already walking in that direction, we thought it be cute to show Princess Zoë the cute gazebo in the park area by the hotel.

She loved it!
