Happy Birthday Me!

Before I get into my birthday celebration, let me tell you a story.

I've been going to interview after interview in hopes of landing a job because we'd like to save a lot of money as fast as we can so we can finally buy our own house. Trust me, I'd rather not work and be a Full Time SAHM. But a house is the dream, ain't it?

Anyhow, I totally forgot that Jeric got today off for my birthday. And after getting a denial from what would have been an extremely good gig, an agency gave me a call and said there was a job for me out in Irvine, which actually works out much better than the other gig. Of course, that's only because I'd have to take Zoë out that far for certain days of the week anyways because my mom goes out there to watch my brother's kiddos. If I got the other gig, which was based in Orange, I'd be driving for about 2 hours just to get to work on time and another 2 hours or more after work to pick-up Zoë. I already turned down another job in Orange because of this. The only reason I was even thinking about the gig that rejected me was because it was a city job. That would be a big jump in pay as well as extremely good benefits. Anyways, back to the job out in Irvine. Turns out they want to fill the spot immediately, so my rep asked if I can interview on Friday and I said yes. Firstly, forgetting that's my birthday, and secondly, completely forgetting J asked for the day off. DOH! He didn't mind though. I mean, it's my birthday anyways hahaha. Plus, he didn't mind sleeping in at all. So, I have an interview today! That's how I'm spending my birthday. Lol.

My interview was later in the afternoon, so we did get to grab a bite to eat before then. I was craving some Boots and Kimos though. Which is quite the dilemma, seeing as the only one we know if is all the way in Hawaii. So, I did the next best thing and ran a Yelp/Google search for Macadamia Nut Pancakes. Well, turns out there's some restaurants that offer it and apparently Polly's Pies has a good rating for them. So there we went.

Witto Zoë went ahead and ordered for us.

And she ordered well!

Me and J each got the Banana Macadamia Nut Pancake Combo, which came with two banana macnut pancakes, two eggs and sausages.

I must say, the pancakes were alright. Totally nothing like the macnut pancakes from Hawaii. But still just as good. I also got a free slice of blueberry pie for my birthday. But by the time we got it we were too full so we just took it to go.

And now time for my interview. My interview went as well as can be. The company is a genetics lab and the position is for a Client Services Rep. The building looks really modern and to come in, you click on the buzzer and they open the door electronically. There's no receptionist in sight. There's just a long welcome table with an iPad that you check-in to. You enter your info and who you're seeing and then snap a photo of yourself. It then prints out your guest badge and you wait there until someone comes to get you. Definitely a modernized younger company.

Anyhow, J and baby Z took me to my interview, so that was nice. When I was done, I got to spend the rest of the evening/night with them.

We came home first to relax and that was when I saw a delivery box for me. Flowers from the Zunigas!

So pretty!

Liz & Marky also got me some yummy mini bundt cakes!

For dinner, we all went out to eat at The King Crab. Had to wait until the baby was awake though and she totally had cute bed head. Hahaha.

I also got a call! I got the job! I start on Wednesday. Woot woot!... wait, let it sink in. Dun dun dun. And now I'm sad. No more days with my baby girl. *cryyyyyy*

After dinner, we saw that The Loop was right across the street. So we totally went on over. The line was super long of course. Because all hype spots are like so. At least, while waiting in line, they had a cute Photo Booth sort of thing to keep you occupied at least for a quick minute.

The deco was cute too. Modern and white with a cute wall design here and there.

Finally trying these bad boys.

The verdict? Is aite. But then again, the combo we tried was probably not the best. We got strawberry glazed with crumbled oreos for a topping. J said we need to go again sometime and try the right combo. Lol.
