First stop? La Jolla Cove to see the Seals. We really wanted Zoë to experience this. Plus, I could definitely make it down the cliff hill this time since I'm not preggers. Whale? That wasn't happening. They sealed up the gate that opens up to the cliff. I guess it was to hazardous for either the seals or people going down there.
The view was still wonderful though.
We noticed that the beach was opened up down below though, so we headed down there.
We did notice that the seals were all gathered on an island of rocks towards the left. There was a bunch of rocks that we could climb over to get pretty close. So I took Zoë there. J was a little apprehensive, but I trusted myself enough. Tada! We still got to see the seals!
When J took Zoë back to land, I decided to venture out even further to get much closer to the seals. It was nice actually, just sitting out there on one of the rocks and enjoying the view.
I was out trying to find a cute seashell for Zoë before we left when I noticed a seal swimming awfully close to shore.
The little fella swam even closer. If swimming was even the word for this?
And then mr seal hopped on up onto shore and came right up to us!
He was definitely enjoying all the attention he was getting.
This was really cute actually. Zoë got to get up close and personal with this guy. I mean, we didn't put her down there or anything, but J held her close enough for her to enjoy seeing mr seal.
On the way out, I even spotted this guy walking along the sandy shores.
And now it's time to eat cause we were totally starving. Now, to find a spot to eat. We searched yelp for nearby places, but couldn't really find anything. We ended up just walking around the eateries nearby and saw a modernized Mexian spot, Puesto, that looked promising.
A quick family shot before we get our food.
While waiting for your food, you get the staple tortilla chips and salsa.
Finally.. food!
I ordered their three taco special, which was a choice of any three tacos for $15. I got the Chicken Al Pastor, the Maine Lobster and the Chef's special.
J got the Pulpo Tacos, which also came with three of them for $17.
The tacos were all delicious, except for one. The Chicken Al Pastor was a tad too dry. The octopus tacos were by far the best. Totally ordering that if we ever hit up this spot again.
Zoë totally had fun sawsaw'ing (dipping) her chips into J's water. Hahaha. Once we were pretty satisfied with lunch, it was time for dessert! We went back to Extraordinary Desserts.
We decided to eat there this time rather than taking a bunch to go. I ordered myself a Passion Fruit Ricotta slice and J ordered a Caramelized Chocolate Lava Cake.
Mommy and Baby Zoë chowing down.
