Jason drove us to the airport. Thank you Jason!
And off we go with our little jet setter.
Check-in and security went by smoothly.
We got to our gate easily and had plenty of time to relax.
We were hungry tho so me and Zoë left daddy while he helped Iban with work stuff. We wanted McDonalds, but didn’t see any after passing a few food spots so I asked. Nope. No McDonalds. They had a Habit tho, which was right next to Wahoo’s. Hmmm decisions. We ended up at Habit and Zoë wanted the breakfast wrap.. and fruit.. and chips.. and orange juice.. and gummy bears 😂 Bought all the food and met back with daddy.
Perfect timing. It’s 8:56 and our boarding time was 8:50ish. There was a slight delay though. So we sat on the floor and enjoyed breakfast because we were starving.
It was also a full flight so they offered free baggage check for all our carry-on luggage. Score! All we had was our backpacks and the food! And 10 min later, they started boarding. They boarded VIP, handicapped and those with children under 3, but I heard wrong and thought children 3 and under. When we figured out I heard wrong, we tried anyways and they let us board! *woot woot*
Here we go! In our seats and ready to go!
Take off
Hmmm how is Zoë going to react, we wondered? Well, for starters she was impatient. Kept asking why we weren’t moving as we waited for everyone to board. Then, we finally took off. She was fine! Not scared at all and knew we were flying. Awesome! We were a little worried that she'd freak out. So thank goodness!
The flight
OMG. Can I say... KULIT monster!!!
None-stop talking.. asking for things.. needed food.. needed drink.. jumping on us.. poking faces.. standing on the seat.. turning the lights on and off.. shutting and opening the window shade (even with her feet at times).. pulling my hoodie string.. laughing too loud.. yelling.. coloring.. then “mixing” her crayons.. pulling the food tray down and then immediately closing it.. and more.. much, much more.
She started off calm and snuggled her Elephant.
Here's just a few of the times she requested snacks or her crayons and coloring book.
Mommy did get to enjoy her Birthday Macaroons for like a minute. Of course baby girl wanted to try them all too. Hahaha.
Tried to get her to nap...
But that never worked.
Eventually, she got on Daddy's lap and was loud and crazy!
Mommy and Daddy were trying to nap again and Daddy told Zoë she needs to nap too, but she kept scolding him because his eyes would open to check on her. LMAO!
And then we were in Hawaii!!
The landing
Zoë was excited to see the island. Got a good look at diamond head and that serene, gorgeous blue water.
Then we turned around and landed. We all braced ourselves for it, well mostly me and Jeric. Zoë was singing. Hahaha. Smooth landing and we’re here!!
Time to walk to baggage claim. Zoë’s hat flew away on the open air walkway near the Chinese Gardens, thankfully it didn't fly over and I was able to get it.
Got our luggage, let's GO!
Now we needed to get on the Alamo bus to the rental spot and yesssss! We got a free upgrade to a full-size sedan! We were taking vids of the scenery and Zoë's reaction, but noticed girl knocked out!
We got to our hotel, but what? They don't have self parking here and they charge you $35/day! We attempted finding a spot on the street, but yah, that wasn't happening. Jeric even drove around while I checked us in, but nothing. We just opted to pay the $35/day to avoid any time delays in finding spots throughout the day.
When we got to our room, which was on the 33rd floor, I put Zoë down and she stayed asleep while the bellman unloaded all our luggage.
We knew she'd be asleep for awhile, so Jeric went down to hit the gym while I unpacked some clothes and even ironed anything that was wrinkled.
Even got to chill and admire our beautiful view!
I even worked out in the room for a bit since Zoë was still asleep.
Now we HAD to wake baby girl up so I tickled her and had her giggle herself awake we showered and got ready since we were starving. But first, Zoë wanted nails like mommy so I pampered her and did her nails.
And we're ready to go...
Oh wait! Family photo op first
Now.. to Target!
On the way there, Zoë said “I don’t wanna go home yet.” Hahahahaha silly girl!
We picked up the essentials and were ready for food. What to eat? I asked Zoë if she wanted spam (Masubi Cafe) or udon noodles (marukami udon Waikiki). She picked spam! Bummer though. Both spots are closing soon.
So, we decided we should just hit up Duke’s. That way Zoë can also walk around and see the beach for the first time.
We walked over from the hotel and checked out the statue of the famous surfer, Duke.
We finally got to the restaurant and it was about a 30 minute wait so we took Zoë to the beach right behind Duke's.
And then she went cray cray. Kept throwing sand in the air and sometimes at mommy and daddy. She loved it! We also got a few good photos.
And now dinner.
Jeric got the pulled pork and I got the chicken katsu with macaroni salad thinking Zoë would like it.
Yah, no! She didn’t want it at all. All she wanted was daddy’s potato chips and his bread.
And now we’re back home! Goodnight!
