Finally Joined LA Library

I started growing my library memberships back a few years ago (Library Cards) and collected one from Anaheim Library, OC Library and Fullerton Library. They're basically used so I can have access to their online libraries. Anyhow, I've been dying to get my hold on one from LA so I can have access to the Los Angeles Public Library online books since they have a ton more to offer than Orange County.

Anyhow, it's been hard for me to get one since the library is usually closed when we're out in LA.

But, not today! Since we were off work early, I was able to schedule a stop at LA Library and Milk Bar before Mama's birthday dinner.

Library Card Collector

Ever since me and Gen discovered renting ebooks for free.99, we've been hooked. The way it works is you use the Overdrive app and enter in your authorized library card. They even have audio books. Although, these are hit or miss in my opinion. It really depends on the voices they use. Sometimes they can ruin your experience. Lol.

Well, I started out with my first library card months ago. I joined up with the OC Public Library system through the Euclid library in Garden Grove. Then, maybe a few weeks ago or so, me and Zoë were out and about and I got myself another library card at Anaheim Public Library.

It's pretty neat because they connect you to different libraries in the overdrive app which have different books available or the same books, but with a different wait time. Very helpful if you're itching for an ebook release.

Anyhow, today I pick-up my third library card over at Fullerton Public Library. I was actually surprised by this one because the lady said I get to choose the design of my card! There was one plain one and then the other two were with cute images of Charlie Brown and Snoopy.

I picked this one.

Cute, right? Anyhow, Zoë loves my library cards just as much!

We Finally Made It Into Cerritos Library

Yey for finally making it to Cerritos Library. Yes, we only failed that one time back on January 16th, but still, I'm happy we're here and we can finally have our little mini adventure!

We started are fun little adventure around the outskirts of the library. There were some fun props, sculptures, and fountains that were great photo ops.

The first one I saw was right before crossing the street. There was an area with a fountain and next to it was the cutest library bench every. It was in the shape of an open book.

And then came the fun with the pretty fountain that had animals spewing out water from their mouths and a pretty flower growing out from the middle.

Zoë was really excited when I placed her on top of the fountain walls, if that's what you call that. She got a much better view of the fountain and all the water jumping here and there.


I saw a large tree that was on the other side of the book bench. Part of the tree trunk or root was sideways and partially protruding into and out of the ground, which had the perfect spot for Zoë to stand.

Thankfully she just stood there and gave me tons of smiles rather than crawling into the burrow. Lol.

After crossing the street towards the library, there was a pathway that led us to a large opened book structure with pretty pictures made of tiny tiles. One of the pages had an actual window that was pretty low to the ground and Zoë saw it as the perfect spot to play peek-a-boo.

It also had a doorway cut out of the cover of the book.

Further down the path was a sculpture that doubled as a fountain.

Now it's time for is to explore the inside of the actual library!

Once you enter you're greeted with a really pretty sign of Cerritos Library and a few displays of a Jazz band.

And not far from the entrance is the lovely Children's Library, which is by far the best Children's Library ever.

The entrance is decorated with ginormous books stacked around the two entrances/exits to the Children's library. The titles were all those of great children's books.

A huge portion of the Children's Library wall holds a very large fish tank, which Zoë got really excited to see.

There were tons of cute props inside the Children's Library too.

A skeleton frame of a T-Rex, which Zoë was very afraid of. The only good picture I got of her, was one where she was sitting in my lap and gripping my sides. Lol. I tried several times to have her stand, but the moment I get close, shakes her head "no" and if I even attempt to walk away from her, she runs to me and grabs me.

At the end of the light house was an actual dock, where Zoë sat and swung her feet.

The rest of the library didn't have a lot of fun photo spots. It was super huge though. I mean, the had an escalator inside! Since there wasn't much else to see, we decided it was time to head out.

On the way back to the car, we decided to take another photo of the dolphin fountain that we took pictures in front of last time.

And that's a wrap! I wish this was a library much close to home because I would love to take Zoë here all the time and have her just sit and read.

Failed Trip to Cerritos Library

I've been wanting to visit Cerritos Library for a bit now. Back in December, Gen got me might interested in signing up for a library card. Because why not? I mean. I LOVE books and I LOVE reading! Of course, I've switched over from the physical to the digital. But hey, technology has changed drastically, so I did some digging and saw that some libraries offer digital books. Of course, you still had to go to the actual library to and sign up for a library card.

So then I started researching for the best library in Orange County. While searching for which spots would offer digital libraries, I found some libraries that you just had to visit for other reasons. Cerritos Library was one of them. They have a fossil structure of a T-Rex in the Children's Library. So awesome! They also have some nice art sculptures and what not. The building itself is very modern looking. I've been wanting to visit Cerritos Library since I've seen what they have.

I already visited the Garden Grove Library back in December. Unfortunately, that post isn't up yet, because I'm still catching up on 2016's blog. Lol.

Well, today's the day! We're going to Cerritos Library!

HA! In my face! The library's closed! Duh, it's Martin Luther King Day. Thought didn't even cross my mind that the library would be closed.

Well, totally need to make-up for lose and take some photos with the Zoësters around the outside.

But, jokes on me again. We got this one picture here...

And then my phone died. UGH!

There were more art pieces and what not I wanted to take photos of/with/near.

Oh well, I still need to come back when the library is open anyways. I'm definitely going to call first and make sure they're open and then I'm totally packing my external chargers.
