With Jaxon entering into our lives, we didn't want Zoë to feel left out or like she losing her precious mommy and me time. So, I found a cute little Lunar Festival event being held over at the Bower's Museum in Santa Ana.
We got there and I was all bout cute pictures of the Zoesters. This was the first one we took over by the entrance of the festival.
After perusing the entrance area, we decided to head to one of the first DIY tables. This one was to make a little oragami Baby Yoda!
And then Zoë got really excited to get her face painted.
We stopped by an art station after. The station was to design our very own Cherry Blossom tree where they had different shades of pink tissue paper to use for the Cherry Blossoms.

None of the shows have started yet, so we just walked around and checked out the art and sculptures they had.
Zoë then saw another fun art station. So she plopped down and started to color.
Once she was done coloring. We went to take a look at the other side of the Museum and Mommy found a ton of awesome picturesque spots.
And now showtime! We hung out and watched a girl group of drummers.
And then, it was time to go home.. but not before a few last minute photos.
Leah got to work this year and made super cute gift tags for Christmas. We wanted to support her as well as have some of these super cute tags. Well, the order arrived today and look how cute they are!
I've seen a few Wonderspaces photos on IG and have been wanted to check it out. Back then, by the time I saw the photos, the show was already closed. I subscribed to their newsletter though and saw an email with deets for their new show, "In Common," that will be over in San Diego and booked some tickets immediately!
So that's the plan for this weekend! A fun day in SD with the fam.
When we got there, we found parking and then had to walk the pier to get to the showroom area and Zoë was excited to see the large Aircraft Carrier Ships. We did have some time to kill before we're allowed in the showrooms anyways, so we let her hang around the pier for a bit.
Outside of the entrance to the showrooms, we saw that they had a Shave Ice cart! It was actually pretty hot now too, so we got one to share.

Zoë ate the majority of it and thought it was super yummy! She even drank the juice from a straw. Haha.
Now time for the art show!
We really weren't sure what to expect when we got there. Once you walk in, it's like a modern art gallery, except nothing's hanging on the walls, instead there are individual rooms that have different types of art show cases.
Some had loud sounds that could be heard all over the entire gallery area. And to be honest, the sounds were a bit chilling. We couldn't exactly figure out what they were. This made walking into one of the show rooms feel like we were walking into a haunted house. Since we were with Zoë, we skipped over the first room or twosince you had to walk into a dark hallway to get to the actual exhibit.
The first exhibit we went to look at's called ANIMA. You could pretty much view the exhibit from the main walkway instead of having to make our way through a dark hallway, which was why we chose this one first.
It basically has a giant sphere in the middle of the room and using XBOX sensors, the sphere would change with any movement sensed around the proximity of the spear.

When we finally figured out that most of the exhibits would be like this and that they were probably dark because it probably involved an exhibit that used light in a way. So, we dared to go into one of the rooms we passed, EXPERIMENT 2.C.
This one was probably my favorite out of all. It created clouds using light and fog and from your view point, it was like you were walking on the clouds.

The EXPERIMENT 2.C exhibit had us walk in one way, but exit out on the other side and from there, we saw exhibits that were out in the open space.
One of them, FLOOR, is a super long silver walkway looking piece. It just had a roller underneath that would move from one side to the other. It called for people to lay or sit on the "walkway" area and wait for the roller to come towards you and then it rolls under you. Haha. Zoë liked this one a lot and kept wanted to run towards the roller or beat the roller, sit down, and then wait for it to go under her again.

Another exhibit in the open space was SPACE HERE BECOMES SOUND. This one had a very modern art vibe to it. It was a bunch of frames in bright vibrant colors that were fixed in a central spot. Each frame was slightly bigger than the other, allowing them to spin around and through each other and as you spun each one a different sound would begin to play. Zoë also loved this one because of how colorful and interactive they were.
Even the outskirts of this exhibit had brightly colored metal panels that also invoked sounds as you touched them.
One of the other exhibits we loved was WE ARE ALL MADE OF LIGHT. This one made you feel like you were among the stars.
Another fun exhibit was RAINBOW ROOMS. It has a bunch of strings that stretched vertically for about 6 or 7 feet. The strings go from color to color in rainbow shades and create a hallway and a room.
The hallway starts off with pinks and reds.
The "ceiling" of the room area is covered with knitted ovals in the same colors as the "walls".
The room itself had couches and a tv all covered with string.
They also had this exhibit where you write your deepest darkest secret on these wooden boards with a sharpie. You drop it into a box and eventually they put them all up on a wall. Here are some of other folks' secrets.
They had several other exhibits that were pretty neat, but the photos we took didn't do it justice.

Well, today, Zoë and Dada ended up exactly like it!
