Upping My Goal Game
Totally upped my goal game this year. I set myself to read 20 books for the year and have completely surpassed that by almost 200%.
What can I say? I love getting engulfed by stories.
Plus, thanks to the OverDrive app and having three library cards, it makes it easy to get books to read for free!

Zoë's Reading Corner
Sometimes I really want her to take a long break from the iPhone and iPad, so I setup a fun reading area. The corner of our bed is the best spot.
It certainly got her excited and she started reading!
She picked out her first book...

We Finally Made It Into Cerritos Library
Yey for finally making it to Cerritos Library. Yes, we only failed that one time back on January 16th, but still, I'm happy we're here and we can finally have our little mini adventure!
We started are fun little adventure around the outskirts of the library. There were some fun props, sculptures, and fountains that were great photo ops.
The first one I saw was right before crossing the street. There was an area with a fountain and next to it was the cutest library bench every. It was in the shape of an open book.
And then came the fun with the pretty fountain that had animals spewing out water from their mouths and a pretty flower growing out from the middle.
Zoë was really excited when I placed her on top of the fountain walls, if that's what you call that. She got a much better view of the fountain and all the water jumping here and there.
I saw a large tree that was on the other side of the book bench. Part of the tree trunk or root was sideways and partially protruding into and out of the ground, which had the perfect spot for Zoë to stand.
Thankfully she just stood there and gave me tons of smiles rather than crawling into the burrow. Lol.
After crossing the street towards the library, there was a pathway that led us to a large opened book structure with pretty pictures made of tiny tiles. One of the pages had an actual window that was pretty low to the ground and Zoë saw it as the perfect spot to play peek-a-boo.
It also had a doorway cut out of the cover of the book.
Further down the path was a sculpture that doubled as a fountain.
Now it's time for is to explore the inside of the actual library!
Once you enter you're greeted with a really pretty sign of Cerritos Library and a few displays of a Jazz band.
And not far from the entrance is the lovely Children's Library, which is by far the best Children's Library ever.
The entrance is decorated with ginormous books stacked around the two entrances/exits to the Children's library. The titles were all those of great children's books.
A huge portion of the Children's Library wall holds a very large fish tank, which Zoë got really excited to see.
There were tons of cute props inside the Children's Library too.

A skeleton frame of a T-Rex, which Zoë was very afraid of. The only good picture I got of her, was one where she was sitting in my lap and gripping my sides. Lol. I tried several times to have her stand, but the moment I get close, shakes her head "no" and if I even attempt to walk away from her, she runs to me and grabs me.
At the end of the light house was an actual dock, where Zoë sat and swung her feet.
The rest of the library didn't have a lot of fun photo spots. It was super huge though. I mean, the had an escalator inside! Since there wasn't much else to see, we decided it was time to head out.
On the way back to the car, we decided to take another photo of the dolphin fountain that we took pictures in front of last time.
And that's a wrap! I wish this was a library much close to home because I would love to take Zoë here all the time and have her just sit and read.

Playtime
Having some fun without the iPad or iPhone tonight! Woohoo!
The baby girl surrounded herself with her books, rubber stickers and Frozen dolls!
Those rubber stickers mang, such a lifesaver. They're like the magnets that she used to play with. We had to take the magnets away because she was biting on them. Probably not a good idea. That's why I love these rubber stickers! They're basically like window clings. Thank you Dy's! She loves them! She even sticks them on herself. Hahaha.
She plays with her Frozen dolls from time to time too. Not exactly how girls normally play with dolls though. Haha. She just picks them up and lays them down in different spots. She does know their names though! Thank you Calderon's!
And then, there's the Finding Dory books. She can't get enough of reading from them. I love how lately, she puts her finger over the words and says some random gibberish. It's like she's reading. So cute!
