I've been craving some delicious snacks lately, especially since I've been reading Manga. It made me crave all the asian snacks! So, I took a trip over to 99 Ranch and stocked up. I also wanted to try some new stuff, so I checked online to see what some good ones were.
Here's my snack haul.
Top Row: Dried Squid (read that this is kinda like beef jerky, but fishy and healthier), Shrimp Chips (an oldie and a goodie), and Teriyaki Flavored Dried Seaweed (also an oldie and a goodie).
Middle Row: Strawberry Pocky (Jeric's fav), Hello Panda (both of our fav), Japanese Style Red Bean Mochi (read that I should try real mochi and that if filled with red bean, even better), and Ramune Lychee Flavor (read that this is a new drink that's gaining popularity).
Bottom Row: Preserved Plum (read I should try this and that it starts of salty and ends up being sweet) and Haw Flakes (an oldie and a goodie.. we used to pretend it was the Body of Christ when we were kids. Blasphemy, I know. But not entirely, since we were kids and just using our imagination and really didn't understand the meaning of the Body of Christ in its entirety).
Zoë is in love with the Teriyaki Dried Seaweed. The perfect savory snack while relaxing around the streets of California Adventure.
Dada and Zoë enjoying some Haw Flakes while enjoying some classic Jazz from Five & Dime.
Jeric enjoying some Shrimp Chips while perusing the festivities for the Lunar Year Celebration.
Tried the Preserved Plum and I must say, they weren't that great. Zoë even made a stank face as she smelled it. Yes, she smelled it before even attempting to taste it. So like her Dada! Jeric smaller the container and agreed that it was disgusting. I didn't smell it. I went straight to tasting it. Verdict: meh. It had a weird taste to it. I even tried it several times to see if its something that grows on you. Nope!
Happy smiles all around while having some Strawberry Pocky Sticks near Sleeping Beauty's Castle.
Not bad for the most part. The majority of our snacks were well enjoyed while making our way around Disneyland and California Adventure.
