Beaching and Bonfiring

The Zunigas planned for a bonfire today and Jeric went there super early to reserve a pit. Me and Zoë, thankfully, got to sleep in. Jeric was actually going to leave all our stuff by the pit and then come back and pick me and Zoë up, buuuut the parking didn't allow for re-entry so he ended up staying there. We had borrowed a cute open tent/shade thing for Zoë to hang out in, so he set that up and a few chairs and then napped in the car. Hahaha.

Meanwhile, Zoë and I made are way over! When we got there, Zoë admired her little tent space while me and Jeric got everything else setup.

Then, it was sand castle time!

I think Mommy was more into it though. Hahaha. Check out our castle!

Finally everyone else showed up and it was off to the water!

At first, Zoë was really scared to have her feet in the water. It didn't help that the waves were really harsh today. They crashed on the shore and brought the water levels pretty up there. Lol. There was definitely a lot of squealing and running away. And when it was calm enough, I tried to hold her and let her feet wade, but she wasn't having it.

Family photo op time!

Eventually Zoë felt comfortable in the water and began to have a blast!

Back to the pit! But not before a cute picture of all the girls! And a pic with my baby girl giving me the biggest smooch!

Presto mentioned that he wanted to get buried, so his little minions got to work and started digging him a hole.

And then, it was time to prep him for sand burial.

Meanwhile.. Zoë keeps trying to run away from us with a bucket and shovel. Where was she heading to? Back to the water. Hahaha. I think she wanted more water for her sand castle. She didn't get far though. Mommy got her before she can get anywhere. Hahaha.

Back to Presto! Wow! His minions work fast. He's completely buried! Lol.

After we all were spent from playing with sand and water, it was time to relax and enjoy the bonfire! What goes best with a bonfire? Smores!!
