They had an awesome setup for the kiddos. Out in the back was a large inflatable pool! When we got there, Penny was in the house and when she saw Zoë, she totally wanted to wait for her before going back to the pool. That is so adorable!
This was Zoë's first time in a pool and her reaction was so cute. She wouldn't move from where I plopped her. She just stood there too with her feet planted.. not willing to budge them. She didn't even sit or squat to soak the rest of her body for the longest. Penny was a different story. She was all over the place and totally comfortable in her pool.
Here she is, staring at her hand under the water. I'm sure the touch of it all was super strange for her haha!
After awhile Mikey joined on in and then Matt too. Eventually Zoë started getting more comfortable.
Zoë started getting a bit cold and wanted out of the pool. She also wanted to go where Penny was, which was over to the water table, which was filled with a ton of water balloons!
More of the homies started to trickle in and the rest of the day was spent with everyone just chillin and chomping down on delicious food while the kiddos were all over the place having a ton of fun.
When the sun finally dropped, it was time for fireworks! Sadly, right beforehand, Zoë had just knocked out. I was seriously trying to get her to nap for the longest so that she'd be awake for the fireworks, but that never happened.
Word got around that their neighbor had an $80 finale. Of course, I should have realized it was a legal finale, which meant not much. We all crowded around when they announced they were going to light it. A ton of other neighbors stopped by too. We were all standing around for way too long and ended up trickling back to our area to light more of our fireworks because it was taking forEVER!
Well, they finally lit it and no one was impressed. One of the kiddos was even like, ""THATS the finale?"" Pwahahaha. Love how kiddos are so honest and blunt.
Luckily Zoë woke up before the finale and still got to enjoy some fireworks.
Ahh, and how horrible it is to end the night because tomorrow we all have stinking work!
