Since we were out rather late last night, I knew it would be tough getting Zoë up in the morning. We actually decided to bring the car seat down and transfer her in there so she stays asleep, but that was a fail. While transferring her, she woke up and it wasn't pleasant. J had to give her chocolate bars to calm her down. He gave her a Kit Kat and a Reese's. One chocolate bar per hand. Hahaha.
While in the car she asked me to open the Kit Kat and by the time I got it opened I saw that she already had chocolate in her mouth! She totally managed to open the Reese's on her own. Lol!
Before heading off to LA Zoo, we had to grab some breakfast, so we headed over to McDonald's. Zoë seems quite pleased with our choice.
And now the Zoo!
First stop.. the Meerkats! Why hello there Timon!
We then headed over to see the Asian Elephants.
The silly Zoëster would also say "sit down" when we walk near a bench. Hahaha. She's so cute.
We went a different route for our Zoo visit this time and came across this rainforest section, which was pretty neat. They even had a Zoë-sized sting ray that she couldn't stop watching.
Say what Dada? You want me to reach up and grab that vine and hang like a monkey? I don't know about that.
Some weird birds we came across.
Dinner and a show? Yup! While Zoë enjoyed bits of her Egg McMuffin left overs, she got to admire one of the many monkeys sitting high up in the trees.
These monkeys were a riot! Swinging around like crazy. I think they've gone bananas!
Next up were the Giraffes. They were as beautiful as ever. And we were very lucky to see a baby Giraffe! I hope you can spot him/her. He/she's hiding behind two other Giraffes who have not moved at all. I think they're protecting the baby. So cute!
The other Giraffes were milling around as usual.
Now we needed to make our way to the Lions, Tigers & Bears! Oh My! To get there, we had to sort of go back the way we went and take a right instead of a left at the fork. On the way back though, we heard some strange monkey noises. At first, J thought it was a few guys making the racket, but nope, they were indeed monkeys! It was an exhibit that we even passed up because we were like, we've seen enough monkeys already. Well, all the racket they were making sure drew in a crowd, us among them!
Check these guys out!
You can't see much from the video (I don't think), but the reason behind all the racket? One of them's a mother and I surely can bet the other is the father. The mother had a teeny tiny newborn hanging onto her! It was the cutest thing ever!
Unfortunately, with the Lions, Tigers & Bears (Oh My!), we only got to see 1 of them as the other two (the Lions and the Bears) were caught napping. Which leaves us the Tigers!
We then made our way to the Hippos, who, as a lady nearby so put it, were just like those on the Jungle Cruise. Lol.
We even got to see a Rhino! His/her body looked so weird. I mean, his skin totally looked like a suit of armor!
Since we saw pretty much all the animals we wanted to, we thought we'd make our way out of the park. Plus we were pooped. On the way out though, we saw that there was the last showing of "World of Birds". So we flew right in.
There were plenty of amazing birds we saw, but these were the best photos I took. An Owl, Hawk and Doves.
At the end of the show, Zoë got to give a Parrot a dollar!
It was such an enjoyable trip to the Zoo!
Until Next time!
