Anyhow, Mom Samoza was off today for a Dr. appointment, so we're going out for a lunch celebration with Zoë, Marky and Liz. Plus, Marky and Liz have work so they won't be able to join for dinner. Marky and Liz too us all out to Noodle House. They wanted to take her out somewhere else, but there wasn't enough time before they had to get ready and go to work. So, Noodle House it is. It's a mom & pop restaurant that sells cheap and quick Chinese food. They even have soup dumplings (no where near as good as Din Tai Fung, but not bad for nearby, quick and cheap).
It was all really delicious! We were all mighty hungry because not a single photo was taken. Hahaha.
When we got home, Mom Samoza wanted to cut her cake already. So we added the candles and sang her Happy Birthday! Of course, Zoë helped her blow out her candles. Haha.
Her cake was from 85 Degrees C Cafe. It's the Ube Cake. It was light and yummy!
After a nice long nap, it was dinner time! It was just me, Jeric, Zoë and Mom & Dad Samoza for dinner. Since it's a Friday, we headed over to The King Crab for some seafood. Speaking of, we actually ate some meat during lunch time and Mom Samoza mentioned that if St. Patrick's Day is on a Friday during lent, you can go ahead and eat meat! Well.. the internet has article after article after article that all state you can totally eat meat on a Friday during lent if it is indeed St. Patty's Day! Still, we had all already set out to eat at King Crab for dinner, so this is where we are.
I was tempted to actually order some Dungeness Crab, but when I asked what the market price was, the waitress said like 20+ per lb (I forgot the actual amount, but it was definitely way too expensive)! Yah, FOH GED ABOUD ID!
I ended up going with the Fried Shrimp Basket. I normally get the Fried Catfish Basket, but I'm always disappointed with it when I get it from here. The Fried Shrimp Basket is definitely worth ordering again!
Happy Birthday Mom Samoza!
