Just a Little Get Together
We had a super small get together at the house for a UFC fight. And once the fight was over, dranks were poured for a drinking game. Of course, I couldn't have any, but still it was fun watching alliances form to only be broken. LMAO. Everyone for themselves!

It's Official! We're Moving on In!!
With our bedroom's flooring all done and the whole room and bathroom cleaned up, we can finally move in! Jeric rented a U-Haul truck for 4 hours just so we can get our big furniture in. Marky and Jason helped him carry all of the heavy stuff while I just helped move around small stuff.
And after 4 hours, all of our furniture was in the new condo! That also means, we gotta fix up as much as possible because we gotta sleep there now. Hahaha.
We also had Weston's birthday party today, but it all worked out. By the time we returned the u-haul, Jeric took the guys out for early dinner as a thank you for helping us while me and Zoë made it out to the birthday party.
Then, when we got back, they guys helped Jeric a little bit more and we were pretty much all set. And tomorrow, we get to go through all the boxes and bags we brought over and try to organize it all.
Still a work in progress, but yey! We're finally in our own place!! Also, we didn't have time to take photos. Whoopsie.

Finishing Up the Master Bedroom
We get to finish the Master Bedroom today! That means, we can pretty much officially move in soon!!
The last step for the bedroom is installing the 3/4ths round molding along the walls. Time to get measuring!

It was also a bit confusing as we tried to figure out exactly how to cut the 45 degree angles using the miter saw.

The darn instruction manual and vids off of YouTube totally didn't make it easy.
At one point, we were doing the wrong type of angle too. We changed it to 45 degrees from the top, but it was actually supposed to be 45 degrees from the side (if that makes any sense). LOL! But we eventually figured it out and finished up our bedroom!
Here's a quick little before and after:

Working on That Flooring
Jeric's been working really hard on upgrading the carpet upstairs to engineered hardwood flooring. The only thing I can really help him out with is measuring and after the last measurements were made for the ends, we finally had our Master Bedroom almost finished!
Here's Jeric laying in the last layer in our room

The good ol' handy, dandy miter saw used to cut boards down to fit was setup in the kiddos bathroom to keep dirt and debris from ending up all over the place

Here's a pic of the ugly carpet in the hallway against the pretty engineered hardwood freshly installed in our bedroom

And tada! Zoë checking out the bedroom while I get ready to vacuum

All that's left is for us to install the 3/4th round molding over the hardwood to hide the expansion gaps that are needed and we can finally move in!!

Got Us Some New Dishes
We haven't found our box of dishes yet and from what I remember we didn't really have a nice set when we were at the apartment anyways. So, we splurged and got ourselves some new dishes.
Jeric found this brand, White Elements, at Macy's and there was a deal.

Aren't they purty?

The Little Helper
Tackling a few things at the condo today. Since we don't get our new flooring for upstairs until the beginning of October, we thought we might as well start bringing things over that we don't currently need/use.
I also wanted to get a start on cleaning since we have power now. Today, we're starting with changing the lights over to our hue bulbs. Zoë really wanted to help us out. So Jeric had her help him with the light bulbs. How cute!

Afterwards, we all put on some gloves and began cleaning the bathrooms. We mainly worked on the showers/tubs and the toilet in Zoë's bathroom since the toilet in our bedroom was replaced and both sinks are brand new. We're just starting off with scrubbing everything down with Blue Dawn Liquid Soap since I read that's a good way just to clean down initially. Plus it's safe for me to clean with being preggo and all. Next, I made a paste with baking soda and vinegar to paint onto any areas that were rusty looking or just had brown spots. We were to basically leave it on there for 24 hours and then wipe it off after, so that was the last thing we did and then headed home.
Tomorrow, we'll wipe all that off and probably work on vacuuming, dusting and wiping down the rest of the surfaces around. Jeric will have to deep clean the bathrooms with bathroom cleaners on his own. I'll probably sort our stuff to see what we need to keep, giveaway or toss.
Fun stuff!

Samoza's Got Keys!
So, we've been looking to finally get our own place since our family will soon be a family of four. We found this wonderful agent who helped us find a condo that was within our price range and had the MUSTS on our list (2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, secured community). We started looking Mid July and after a weekend of looking at places, we didn't find any that we really liked. There was one we REALLY liked on the list, but by the time she tried to make an appt to view the place, it had already been put in Escrow. Dang! At least, she got an idea of what were were going for as far as aesthetics and said she'd look around for more condos that were similar. We also asked if it was possible to find places off of Zillow or any other of those listing websites open to the general public. She said we could, but couldn't guarantee all of them will be available since public listing sites don't typically have up-to-date info or provide full data on whether there are stipulations involved.
Anyhow, we sent her the list and there and after finding several that were available and worked with what we were looking for, she set appointments for us.
We really liked one that was located in Santa Ana and by end of July, we had put an offer in. Unfortunately, the seller said that they had already accepted an offer, but would definitely keep us as the back-up offer. We were pretty bummed at this point. That's strike 2 on ones we wanted. But, we went back to public listings to see if there were any new ones that opened and just our luck! There was a condo in the same complex that JUST listed.
I texted our agent ASAP and asked if she can just put an offer in. Yah, I know that's bad. LOL. Buuut, we figure we can put the offer in now and then check out the place after since we didn't want to lose out on this one either. The seller did reach back out immediately and stated that she'd rather we actually look at the place first and then she'll push the offer through.
So, that Saturday, we headed on out to take a look. It was worth it, because we did get to see everything. We were happy with what we saw and proceeded with the offer.
Our offer was accepted and then everything happened so quickly! Within the first few weeks everything was done! All initial paperwork signed, inspection done, appraisal done...
We finally signed our closing docs back on August 26th, but then we hit a snag. Of course, right when they're about to get everything recorded, they find out that the seller's title wasn't filed when she purchased. Oi vey! This put quite the delay in closing everything up and receiving our keys. It seriously almost took another month for them to get their documents in order. Luckily, they agreed that it was their error for not doing their due diligence early on to avoid delays like this and have agreed to eat any additional costs this will cause.
Anyways, we re-signed our closing documents on Monday and woohoo! We got our keys today!!!
Here are a few pics that we took.
