It's been ages, like almost 20 years, since I locked my knees. And here I am, just back from the ER because I locked my knee.
While cleaning up and scolding Zoƫ at the same time, I was kneeling while picking up kalat all over the floor. Well, I certainly should've known better than to sit back onto my legs. Basically having my legs tucked under where my calves were directly parallel to my thighs, if that helps paint a picture of how I was sitting. I know this causes extreme tension on my knee cap and causes my left knee to lock (I've never had an issue with my right knee in this position). So much for remembering that last night! I instantly felt my knee lock and while before I've been able to unlock it on my own after a few minutes, I wasn't able to this time. I have had it this bad once before and totally had a trip to the ER back then too. So, you think I'd learn, right? Nope!
And I should've remembered because the pain is that excruciating! And I was stuck on the floor in the most awkward position. Jeric wanted to lift me up, but I was scared as eff. I already tried unlocking it a few times by slowly maneuvering my knee/leg, but that made the pain seer through my entire leg. I literally cried out so badly every time. So yah, I was being a baby when Jeric said he would lift me up to re-position me or even get me in the car so we can get to the ER. I sat there for probably a few hours wasting time because of how bad the pain was when I would move it.
Eventually, I had to suck it up. Jeric lifted me, I screamed in agony, but he got me in the car and off to the ER. And an hour or so later, the Dr. finally unlocked my knee. Still, being in that horrible position for so long left my knee a bit sore. Ugh!
I also had a knee brace and was put off of work for a few days. I only took 1 day though.
