My fur baby passed away today. She's actually been declining for the past week or so. We noticed that she had blood in her stool. She's lived a long life though and has had 7 babies. She also had surgery about a year ago for a cyst in her belly. So we decided to just let her wait it out. I didn't think it would happen so soon though. She was still eating and drinking and coming out of her bed at times.
I was wrong though. After we moved out, it turns out things took a turn for the worse and she stopped eating. Then, by Tuesday, she stopped drinking water and my little brother called me and told me that she's definitely not doing well.
This morning, when Chris went in the garage, he said she's definitely going to pass away by today. So the moment Zoë woke up, I headed over to my parent's house. Thankfully she was still alive when I got there. I got to talk to her one last time and then I told her to close her eyes now and that when she wakes up she'll be in doggy heaven with 5 of her 7 puppies. The next time I saw her, she was gone. :( I took her over to the animal shelter and then I had to give her over to get cremated and that was so hard for me to do.
I'm glad though. The last week or two was really hard on her so I'm glad she's not suffering anymore.
